Question for Cosmetologists. (Olaplex)

Very long but I need help! So my grandma is a retired cosmetologist. She purchased Olaplex for me to try on my very damaged hair. I have bleached my ends in the past so they are very fried from when I tried to do ombré (brown to blonde). After that phase we dyed over everything red. (I'm just trying to give you an idea of what my hair is like.) I also have a band of black in it about 4 inches or so from my scalp. So anyway we added the olaplex no. 1 to my regular red color, did my roots pulled it through, then I went into the shower and washed it all out and put no. 2 on my ends in the shower for 5 minutes and rinsed it out. (I know I'm supposed to leave it in longer than this but my other grandmothers funeral was today and I was in a hurry, long story). I don't feel a difference at all. If anything I feel like it's maybe a tad worse fried than it was before but I've been dying it red for months now and it's always felt the same. So anyway, my questions is, can I do it again tonight but actually leave it in the correct amount of time and just do it as a treatment alone not with a color or anything. Please please help!!
