Am I pregnant??

Hi, my last day of my period was April 22, 2016. I had sex ending of April like April 29 and May 3rd and that following weekend my partner. We have been trying to conceive around May 14th I had brown spotting and no period so I took a dollar store pregnancy test and came out negative. Any help??
