Should I call L&D? Read description

Question

Should I cal L&D? I have chronic high blood pressure under control with medicine. I have been taken my medicine like I'm supposed to. I was laying down and had a slight headache so I decided to get up and take my bp, it's been 140s/100 for an hour. Should I call and see if L&D wants me to come in? I'm 26 weeks.

I just don't want to over react because I've seen them just 3 weeks ago for decreased fetal movement only to be hooked up and baby go nuts.

Never wait it out. At least call, it's harming no one. And they will either advise you to come in or tell you honestly if it's not necessary.

I'm here still. Bp is still elevated. They checked my cervix and I had a gush of blood after now I'm cramping bad. She didn't tell me anything though. Just said she is waiting on urine then calling my dr.

I would just call the doc.  If you have chronic htn it is not extremely high. Since you already have the meds your doctor can advise if he wants you to up your dose and then can bring you in Monday if you are having other symptoms of preeclampsia. I have chronic htn and with meds I still sit at 130-140's/90s.

Decided to lay down for half an hour and check it again to see if it's still high. It is still 136-143/100 so I think I'm going to go in and just see.

I called and they were basically no help. 😓😓 asked the nurse and she asked if dr was concerned about my blood pressure, I told her I take medicine for hypertension and have taken it like I'm supposed to and she asked me who my doctor was then sent me to the switchboard lady and that lady tried calling my doctor and said he didn't answer just to do what I felt I needed to do. Last bp reading was 146/103 and now I'm frustrated.

That's pretty high you should go in. Last weekend I had a scare because I started bleeding after sex. I went to Early Labor because honestly I knew if I called they'd just have me go in and get checked. They will NOT think you are overreacting. I was nervous about that too but the nurse assured me this happens all the time and she encouragedme to come back that night again if I needed to. They don't mind. I can be nervous about these things but I feel comfortable going in now if I am worried. Please GO!!!

If feel like you need ask us, that means your worried and you should call or go in.  No question.  I didn't read your post but my hubs is an EMT and often says "if your thinking maybe you should call 911, your already late in calling them"  same goes for health concerns!

I'm dealing with chronic high BP controlled with medication and I was told if my no is elevated for more than 30 minutes and I have not been exercising or any other activity that would cause an elevated BP that I need to call my doctor (on call, or after hours) then they will decide if I need to go to L&D for monitoring, or wait and be seen in office the following morning. 
You need to do what you are comfortable with though regardless of what anyone else says.

Call, but they will probably want to monitor you until they can get it back down. Never be concerned about what people think when it comes to the safety of your baby. "Better safe than sorry" is more than just a saying.
