2 baby showers

My mom is throwing me a shower and as soon as she realized the best time to have it would be during graduation season she started planning. So she asked my mother in law if she wanted to do it together. I don't know the reason but she said she wanted to do hers separate. My dads side is huge and honestly an be kinda annoying. So I wasn't gonna complain at the idea of having a smaller shower. I also didn't try to flaunt it around that I was having two because my niece is pregnant and she is only having one and is probably not going to have a big turn out. But the very few people that asked me about the shower asked me why I was having 2 and if that's what I wanted. I hate being the center of attention but if my mother in law and mother want to plan separate showers i feel like it's not my place to get up in arms. It's their money and they are choosing to throw it for me. It's not like there will be any over lap on guests and it's not like I'm throwing them for myself. I just don't really understand why someone would ask me why I was having two showers, like I planned it
