Is sex safe?

Is it safe to have sex once your mucus plug has fell out? I don't wanna risk infection but everyone keeps telling me to do it, since I'm dilated to an almost 4(and that was a week ago).

As long your water hasn't broken, at least that's what I've always been told. You can lose chunks of your plug all during your pregnancy, but your amniotic sac is what really protects the baby.

This is a dumb question but how would I know if I was losing chunks of my mucus plug? I've had slot of light green mucousy discharge sometimes when I wipe I'm 32+6

My doctor told me after the mucus plug comes out I shouldnt be doing it because of the risk of infection. Its better just to be safe.
