Pregnant women's rights in the work place

So, I was hired at a salon 2 months ago at my interview they said they liked you to work 2 years uninterrupted (meaning no long leave like month long honeymoons, maternity leave ect.) I am now concerned that I may be unexpectedly pregnant. Is there anyway for them to fire me or penalize me for becoming pregnant? I live in North Carolina.
