Depends and after labor?

Question

Im really worried about bleeding alot after giving birth! I already have a heavy period and ik its diff but the worry is there!!! Soooo has anyone used depends after giving birth and it work? How did u like it? Was there any prob? Really any info would b highly awesome!!!

Update: i think based on what ive read im going to take a couple just to b on safe side and then ill have pads to! Thank u for ones who answered! It was very helpful! More opinion r without a dout welcome!!! U might have a awesome look out on y or y not!!!

You're about to have a GIGANTIC (compared to a penis) baby come out of you!  Bleeding is so normal but the amount is different for everyone.  I bought a big pack of heavy over nights and heavy longs.  I had left overs for the next period.  I was able to switch to a regular pad in about a week.  It's totally manageable without depends!  Just don't be freaked out.   After birth the nurse will make you go pee and poop (they need to make sure nothing was obstructed from the birth) and I freaked out at the amount of blood.  The nurse said it was totally normal!  And it tappers down really quick.   Also if you bleed through a few times, it's no big deal.  Really.   Your boobs will be leaky, your vagina is leaky and your heart will be oozing with joy :)

TMI warning: I am the same way, on my periods I have large clots that come out during the beginning and pads were just not enough during my vaginal delivery. I plan on taking depends to the hospital this time to see if they work.

Following!  What kind of post labor pants are you planning on wearing? I would think you could see the pad through the yoga pants if you have visitors. I'm just curious💛

It was honestly extremely comfortable to use depends for the first week, especially at night time.  I never had any leakage issues and I changed mine when I used the restroom and didn't have any problems with it. As my flow got lighter, I switched back over to pads and that was it.  I fully recommend them

I was considering trying them this time. I had some difficulty with pads staying in place and I was constantly worrying about bleeding through. I will probably use what the hospital gives while i am there (probably won't wear pants much unless we have visitors) and then maybe try the depends at home when I'm moving around a bit more. The blood is unreal the first day or so 🙈 lol

For both of my births I just used maxi pads that I soaked in witch hazel and olive oil and froze. I also use tucks pads. But never depends I never considered it. Maxi pads usually do the trick and just make sure to try to leak out as much as you can when you go to the bathroom. Also go to the bathroom frequently to avoid blood build up that comes out in large volumes all at once.

The first few days after labour you will likely bleed quite heavily. I would recommend using a large pad and changing it hourly if needed instead of using a Depends. It's more sanitary in my opinion.

Depends is so the way to go!! They were so unbelievably comfortable! Lol I will def be using them this time around! The pads are so bulky and uncomfortable and shift around. I hate the way they feel. But you can always through a pad inside the depend if it's kinda heavy at first :)
