Are these diapers okay for newborns or do I need to buy the diapers with the big N on the box?

Size 1 is fine just fold over the top so it doesn't hit the belly button.

Most of the time you can get a good amount of newborn diapers from the hospital.  With our first our nurse told us to clear out as much as we could!

N stands for newborn. So typically n would be best. They typically have a little cut out where the belly button is too so it doesn't get aggravated

I would most definitely buy newborn diapers! Our daughter didn't move to size 1 until she was 7 months old. And no, she wasn't a premie, she was 7lbs 8oz at birth.

Newborn sizes in this brand also have a little yellow strip that changes colors when the diaper is wet. I bought only one box of newborn size and a couple size 1 and 2. I'm expecting my baby to be over 8 lbs though so she won't be in newborn sizes long.

I would buy at least one box of newborn.
I actually bought two newborn boxes and about three size 1 for now. I think I have a size 2 box too. I bought them so long ago I forgot!
