Too much sex?

Question

My SO and I have only been ttc for 3 months now and I read somewhere that it's best to have sex every other day for improved chances of pregnancy? I was wondering if that was true because we are both very active and normally end up having sex almost everyday. What are your thoughts?

My boyfriend and I had sex literally every single day except for like 2 days the entire month. (He was out of town) 
And I ended up getting pregnant that month.
One thing I also did was I kept laying down after he finished in me for 10-15 minutes.
