First time taking clomid...

So this is my first month taking clomid. It was 50mg cd3-7 the doctor said I will be most fertile cd11 well I got a negative ovulation test that day... I am now on cd 15 and have some what positive ovulation test... Is it normal for me to ovulate later then expected when on clomid?
