Advice crib or bassinet

Ok so I've been debating for the past couple of weeks of wether to get a crib or a bassinet for the baby, at night the baby will be co sleeping with me since i plan to breastfeed and my husband works out of town and only comes once every two weeks so I feel so much safer having him next to me. I've heard that I really won't need the crib and that the baby will outgrow his bassinet quick so I need advice I'm a FTM who has no clue what to do lol
