Talking about induction

I went to the OB yesterday for my 40 visit and everything went great, as the whole pregnancy has been. He said he'd have us back on Monday for another check, non stress test, and sono. Which turned into Tuesday because of memorial day. However, I forgot my husband starts training next week and I don't want him to miss labor - or have to leave while I'm still at the hospital.

So I guess my question to everyone is, do you think it's okay to be induced this weekend so he doesn't miss anything? I know my doctor has to schedule it which idk if he will. I don't know if this is normal, I'm honestly nervous to even ask my doctor...
