Convertible car seat or infant?

Question

Anyone just do one of the convertible car seats like the graco 4ever? Weight wise it says you can use from NB up to almost 10yrs old. Considering this since you aren't supposed to let your baby sleep in an infant carrier anyways, and I'll wear a baby when I grocery shop and stuff. Anyone else go the convertible route?

Im totally getting that. It makes a lot of financial sense. I also bought a convertible crib that turns into a full size bed for when they're older. I like getting things that can be used for a very long time instead of for just a year. Makes a lot of sense.

No. Not just the sleeping but it's wayyyy more convenient imo to
Not have to take the baby in and out of the car seat when when they are tiny. Way easier to just grab the infant seat and go wherever U are going. Esp in cold weather cuz u can tuk blanket around them when u go outside since u can't put them in heavy/puffy winter wear in car seat.

We went right to a convertible and I loved it. Babies shouldn't sleep in infant carriers and they shouldn't be put on top of shopping carts either but so many people do it. The angle of infant seats is terrible for babies.

Go with the convertible. It's so much better. Infant seats don't last very long and you just end up buying the convertible seat in a few months anyway. I've used a convertible seat from birth and it's easier than people think.

I bought the grace 4ever and I already love it! I cannot wait until September to use it! I would 100% recommend it :). Plus you don't have to buy another car seat ;). It's $300 well spent.

I have a convertible car seat now. But I really liked having a carrier. It was nice when she got out of the newborn stage but was asleep in the car and we could just take the seat out and take it in with us. But starting at 5/6 months I started just leaving it in the car anyway and taking her out of it. I did wear her but I got too hot most of the time.

I had an infant seat and switched to a convertible when she was 4 months and im so glad I did. I baby wear everywhere I go so it's easier not to mention it seems more comfortable for baby. I have the Chicco nextfit.

We had an infant at first. It was convenient but a pain. Now we have a convertible car seat but can't take it out so I had to invest in a baby carrier that has been my life saver. I prefer to have the convertible BC it will last till he is out of it and I love the closeness I have while carrying my son to my chest. I love the hood BC I can stop people from touching my child. Even though the other day a lady touched my kids legs and said booger baby...yeah it ain't happening again.

Just check with your hospital. Some do infant car seat checks before you go home and the "convertible" seats don't count. Otherwise do what is best for you.

I had a convertible car seat with my last baby and loved it. This time we are going with the infant carriers that snap into the stroller since we're having twins. I used a carrier with my first and hated it, it was so heavy to carry around and gave him a bald spot bc I left him in it too often. The reason why I'm using the carriers again this time is bc of what other moms of twins have suggested.
