My D&C experience.
This morning my husband and I headed to the hospital for my D&C. I was terrified as I'd never had surgery add that to my already emotional state of losing our second baby and you could say I was a basket case! My nurses were amazing and made me very comfortable to be in their care... All the doctors were great and answered my husband and I's many questions about the procedure with patience that we really appreciated. Surgery went well and we are now home which is a blessing! But now I'm faced with the fact that this is our first night in almost 4 months without our little baby here with us and it's hard to swallow. I'm so grateful that my OB and the head of pathology at our hospital went above and beyond to make sure our little baby's remains could be handed over to the funeral home for cremation when they certainly didn't have too. I'm also grateful for the funeral that is willing to do the cremation and is taking care of our little one until he can be home again! Our sweet precious Finley will be with us in less than 2 weeks... Hopefully my heart gets a little lighter when he is finally home! 👼🏻
