Implantation bleeding

Anyone have any experience with implantation bleeding? I think I just had it the last few days, no real blood ever happened like a real period and my period was due. Just the brownish leftover looking old blood, very sparse when I went to the bathroom for about 2 1/2 days and now nothing at all. Should I wait a few days to pregnancy test? None of my friends or family have ever experienced this so I am kind of at a loss and some of the articles I'm reading are contradicting and confusing. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
