Coconut oil?

My baby isn't here yet (due June 15) but I'm planning on breastfeeding him and learning all I can before we start. One of my concerns is sore, cracked nipples. Has anyone heard of or tried using coconut oil to prevent the pain? And if so, how did it work for you?

I used it when my nips were sore. It helped a ton ☺️ and you don't have to wipe it off before LO nurses again 👍🏻

I was using lanolin but my baby won't latch when I use it and he doesn't like the taste so I switched to coconut oil and it works awesome. Baby doesn't mind and by the time I feed him again after application, its mostly absorbed and only needs a quick wipe of my hand. It helps heal them well.

It's the only thing, other than my own milk, that I plan to put on my nipples. Just make sure it's unrefined.

I think it works better then anything I've tried. My LO doesn't seem to mind it either. Make sure to get cold pressed organic.

You can use coconut oil for anything and it does work wonders in your nipples and is competent safe for baby too
