Sleeping through the night??

Do any of you mommas have tips for me to get my baby to sleep through the night?? Lately she's waking up every 2-3 hours still. And eating every time. I'm exhausted 😔

Ladies, there is nothing wrong with your baby waking up to feed--breastfed babies need to eat every 2-3 hours to stay healthy. Sometimes they nurse for comfort, or maybe just want to be held. What's wrong with that?

How old is your baby? Typically, it's not expected for a baby to be able to sleep through the night until 6 months or later. Newborns still have small stomachs and especially breastfed babies metabolize their food so quickly that they need to be fed frequently.

My 7 week old is consistently sleeping 5-6 hours straight each night (followed by 2-3 hour intervals until he wakes up around 8 or 9am) and I think this is incredibly lucky. It's definitely still normal for a newborn to wake up every 2-3 hours every night.

Feed, swaddle her, read stories/ lullabies, Rock her, put on white noise... I typically get 5-7 hours straight between feedings.

I try to stick to a routine...I start getting her ready for bed around 7-7:30...feed her until she is drowsy off one boob, then I swaddle her and put her on the other boob until she is out like a light. I hold her for a few minutes to make sure she is asleep and then put her in her swing. Also, I make sure all the lights are off and that it's really quiet in the room..She sleeps in her Rockaroo right next to our bed. I use a white noise machine every night too. I think it makes all the difference. She consistently sleeps 4-5 hours right off the bat. But she has given us 6-7.5 before. It's great!

Start a routine like bath, massage, pjs, story, bottle/breast then down for bed. Ever since we started using a halo sleepsack and swaddled her tight she's been sleeping so much better. Also a white noise machine that will last all night (can be plugged in vs running on battery) made a huge difference for us.

I have found pumping and having my husband do an evening feed works wonders! In the least, I can nap while he feeds, giving me some energy for the night. But, more often baby will sleep 4-6 hours as well, making it a double bonus! My LO is 5 weeks.

We do a bath, feeding, swaddle, white noise, and slight vibration in her bassinet. She's given us 5hr stretches of sleep at 6 weeks with this routine.

Aria is a little over 1 month old. I give a 3-4 ounce bottle around 9/9:30. That fills her up and helps her sleep longer. She only wakes up at like 4:30 to feed. Hope it helps.
