Miscarriage

So I had early bleeding in pregnancy. Then I had an ultrasound which showed no fetal pole. Then last week had an ultrasound with a heart rate of 83. Then today had an ultrasound heart rate is 47. They told me I need to wait until next week to go back to get another ultrasound and then take a medication to get rid of the pregnancy. Has anyone been through this? Do I just assume it's over? There is no hope at this point right?  Very sad and very confused
