Spectra S1 rave
I've had my spectra S1 less than a week and I couldn't be happier with it.
I initially got a medela PISA and was happy with that too. I thought it did its job but was curious if something could be better. Heard a lot of good things about the spectra breast pumps.
It claims to be "hospital grade". It's a closed system. All good things.
I had a change in insurance and at 3weeks pp I ordered my Spectra. It was covered by my new insurance. I opted to upgrade to the rechargeable unit (S1) and it's totally worth it.
I went from pumping at most 2 ounces (from both breasts) with my Medela to just finishing pumping 5ounces an hour ago!!
The unit is very quiet. Also very gentle. I love that you can control the cycle and auction separately.
The rechargeable battery does make it more portable for me. Even at home I don't have to tie myself to an outlet. I've pumped in the car (as a passenger) twice already. I can't wait to use this at work. I'm glad it's quiet.
The night light feature is great for pumping at night. I've only done that a few times. LO only fed from one breast before passing out asleep so I pumped the other breast.
I already have a lot of medela accessories so I've gone online to buy adapters to use my medela bottles since I have a lot of them. I also use the kiinde bags and have the attachment for that as well. I also have he adapter to use my medela flanges.
I've yet to try and see what my output on the medela PISA at this time and compare. I do think that the medela is a good option as well. But if you can get the spectra, go for it!
