If you took your daughter to get her nails done, at what age would you be Ok with someone telling you she had to be on her own?

My sister is earning her certificate in esthetics at this school that she also got her cosmetology certificate from, and she took her 4, almost 5, year old daughter to get her nails painted and pampered. And one of the instructors came back and told her that she had to wait in the hall while her daughter got her nails done. I am pretty livid that she would attempt to do that at all as my niece got very upset, and they ended up leaving without her getting her nails done.

It's school policy. only the one client is legally allowed to be with the student. The state does not cover more than a 1:1 experience and there cannot be extra bodies on the clinic floors. So long as a child can either sit alone to receive a service or be old enough to sit in the waiting room unattended (13) than the services can proceed.

At my school kids weren't even allowed on the floor? Like not even for hair cuts? Teens could get their nails done in the nail room as long as their parent was getting their hair done with visible access to that nail room. My esthetics education didn't require nail tech lessons so it's out of my knowledge but different states have different rules about who is and isn't allowed
