Cleaning your medela pump

Ashley
How do you ladies clean your tubes out? Sometimes water gets in there if I didn't have time to completely dry out the bottle before I pump. I can't seem to get the end piece off to dry it out & I don't want it to mold?

The instructions suggest when you finish pumping to leave the machine going and pull the tubes out of the back of your shields but leave the tubes attached to the machine while it continues to pump air through to dry out any moisture that gets inside the tubes

This is how our lactation consultant explained it to us too.

Yes. It has instructions on the bag about cleaning the tubes. I clean them once a day with he microwave bag.

The tubing isn't supposed to get wet. The manual says only clean if you see milk in the tube, I'd do the bags, but boiling water is free 😁

You wip them around till the water comes out then connect them to the pump and run it for 5 min
