Will it ever be an issue?

So, 5 years ago when I was 21 (and very stupid), I was arrested on a misdemeanor petty theft charge in FL and did community service and took a class and the DA dropped the charges. If I want to apply for a job in the future, will that hinder me in any way? Will it keep me from getting a job? I have been an upstanding citizen since then and have definitely learned my lesson. Any answers or advice would be very helpful. Thanks ladies :) (I was never taken down to the station so I don't have a mug shot, but it was put in the system as an official arrest.) Also, will it show up on my record/background check?

Edit: I ran a background check on myself like you ladies suggested, and it wasn't there :) thank you lovely ladies for answering and calming my nerves :)

I have a similar situation from when I was 17 and mine was non-adjudicated, so I never mention it and it's nowhere on my record. But if I mess up again it will be brought back. If the charges were dropped then it's like it never happened. :)

I'm not entirely sure, but I think if they dropped the charges you should be fine.

You have to check with the police department, find out which one is the one that do police background checks for employment and run it!. That is the only way to be sure.
