Question for the moms

So I recently turned 17 and I ended my 2 year relationship about 2 months ago. I have liked a guy from my work for ages but pushed the feelings away because of my boyfriend and because I didn't think it would happen. Around the time I broke up with my ex my coworker confessed he liked me for a long time. Now here is my question, my coworker is 19 going on 20 but is the nicest person I have ever met. He comes from a solid Catholic background like myself and is very down to earth and caring. I feel like I am mature enough for this relationship and it would be ok, my parents are very against my dating someone older. Do you think it's okay??
