Patch? Yes or No?

Tell me your experiences with it I would like to try but want to know what I'm getting myself into can someone please help I go to the OBGYN tomorrow morning 😣

I used the patch for 15 years. I used to have debilitating cramps every 4-10 weeks, horrible acne, migraines, insane mood swings and many other awful pms symptoms. Within the first month it regulated my cycle and reduced all of my other symptoms of pms. I've used it as directed and have never had a pregnancy. The deciding factor for the patch (for me) was that I didn't have to take a pill everyday. Looking back, another huge advantage is that you don't have to worry about antibiotics interfering and possibly getting pregnant. I have several friends who got pregnant while on the pill due to antibiotics. I have a friend who was also on the patch but she had to discontinue use because of the adhesive (she's allergic to latex). I think the best advice is to figure out what works best for you and do that.

One of my friends had the patch. It made her extremely irritable and killed her sex drive. It seemed easy to use but it completely changed her moods, gave her intense head aches and because of her changes- ruined her 4 year relationship.

If you are looking for an alternative form of BC this can be a great option. Everyone is different, so if it works for you, great! Moods, cramping, etc, will be different for everyone, but I'm sure there are those out there who love it! It worked great for me for a while, but it ended up making my skin break out where it was located. Make sure you ask your doc about potential side effects, and pros/cons of this particular contraceptive. Good luck!
