when does second tri really begin?

I know it's all kinds arbitrary and the real answer is like 13.33333 weeks or something silly like that, but I just hit 13 today and wanna know if YOU think that's when we graduate to the hallowed second trimester or not. 😘

When you think about it 12 weeks doesn't make sense (12×3=36). 13×3=29 14×3=42. Not all doctors go by the same amount of weeks, although most use the 13 or 14 week marks. Some get technical and say 13 weeks and so many days or 14 weeks and so many days. It all depends on your doctor and honestly you. But I don't understand how people think 12 weeks is it because mathematically, it doesn't make sense.

I like the thought of leading the pack :-) although I'll likely go longer as the first 2 were 10days late. My mom's birthday is on the 7th so it'd b a nice gift to give her a new grand baby

Omg I never thought about it like that! My original date was end of November based on lmp so I was bummed to get bumped to dec:-( but now I can just think I'm one of the first in line :-) however, both of my first 2 were 10 days late so I expected to deliver early dec. my moms birthday is the 7th so I was thinking it'd b nice to give her a nice new grandbaby as a gift lol. On a side note I still feel awful. I threw up the whole time with #2 and I'm thinking that'll happen again. I had a horrible day where i could barely eat due to "morning" sickness. If I take my b6/unisom every night and eat regularly throughout the day I'm pretty good tho. But I work full time so it's not always easy. When ru due?

I learned on nursing school: weeks 1-14, 1st trimester, week15-28, 2nd and 29-40, 3rd. The baby doesn't even get fertilized till 2weeks in as they are counting from the last period. So technically ur baby is 12wks old at 14 weeks.

I asked my Dr today and she said 13 weeks and 6days .. I'll still be more comfortable in week 13 though 😊
