Sometimes I wonder..
If these L&D nurses (few, not all) know/care about what they're doing at this certain hospital I refuse to go to ever again. Each time I've gone there's been some sort of careless mistake made. First time I heard a baby born in the bathroom (she was STILL in the exam room not even admitted yet) and mom freaking out no nurses or anyone responded to her nurse call in time (it had been a few minutes at least). Second time a baby was born in the waiting room after mother was waiting to be wheeled up to L&D for a good 20 minutes! Third time I was turned away because of my gestational age (their NICU wasn't capable) I checked into another hospital and had a positive FFN and had to receive steroid shots and magnesium and terbutaline all that fun stuff to stop labor. Last time I was there a woman was waiting at the wrong desk her membranes ruptured on the floor and her husband was pissed they hadn't come to check her in. I had to tell them the check in desk was down the hall, but nurses knew she was there (you have to ring the doorbell to get into the area we were in). Most recent time (last night) just has me fed up--I was checked last week at my dr office and was 3-4cm dilated, and then last night( I went into L&D for some bleeding and contractions) and the nurse said I was closed, but soft 🤔 I know for sure I'm not closed because I've had checks the last few weeks and gradually have been dilating. She also couldn't find baby's heart beat, and said "forget it we are here to do a labor check on you anyways" excuse me? I immediately requested my discharge papers and went to another hospital. Sad thing is that my OB of 7 years--who delivered all of my other children now only delivers at the shotty hospital I refuse to go to.
