I was 19 when genetically tested and I came back positive for BRCA1. I had my bilateral mastectomy on the day before Thanksgiving 2015 at the age of 20. I have Chronic pain, so I opted out of reconstruction. I'm almost 22 and I love being able to take my prosthetics off at the end of a long day. Proud to be #FlatAndFabulous and have dropped my personal risk of breast cancer from 80%+ by the age of 22 down to a normal woman's risk, which is 1 in 8.

No but I would be more diligent about getting mammograms etc.
