Is Sex Physical or More?

My husband is fine making live once or twice a week. I've told him multiple times that I would like more because for me, it's not just a physical thing. I love to connect and be intimate with him. And I also love to please him sexually. But it seems to just go in one ear and out the other and I feel like just giving up and getting used to a life with little sex. Any suggestions?
