Ftm, how possible is early labor?

Hi ladies! I really just need your experience and opinions. I'm a ftm and I'm 34.5 weeks pregnant. My doctor considers full term anything past 37 weeks. I've had a totally healthy and normal/easy pregnancy. Most of what I have read says that ftm are far more likely to go past their due date rather then go early. Is that pretty much true?

I ask because my hubby just called to let me know he just scheduled a fishing trip with his buddies in a few weeks. I went to add it on my calendar and realized its when I'm 38 weeks pregnant. He will be sea fishing  on a boat several hours from shore with limited to no cell service. It's only one day, leave early am and return late night.

I know if I asked him not to go, he wouldn't, but I don't want him to miss out on the fun if there is little chance of me falling in labor while he is gone.

Opinions?

It'll probably be fine I would just have a check in rule or something where he stops and calls every few hours. Good news is even if you do go into labor (you definitely could at 38 weeks) it will probably be a good amount of time before you actually have the baby. Also as it gets closer you'll have a better idea because you can start to feel the signs of labor coming on like the baby being really low and you'll find out each week after 37 weeks of you're dilated or not. So you can play it by ear if you're progressing quickly!

I had a healthy active pregnancy and went 10 days over due. We had a family vacation that I skipped because I was at 37 weeks, I have gone if I knew he wouldn't show for 4 more weeks!

Just make sure you have a back up ride to the hospital!

I started to get labour symptoms when I was 38 weeks and ended up having my baby at 40+2, 40 hours after my water had broken. So even if you do go into labour there's a chance he'll be back before you have your baby. Just make sure to get him to contact you every so often.

Honestly even if u do go into labor chances are you're not going to have the baby before he can get back..
