How did your induction go?
I am weighing the pros and cons of being induced and would love to hear personal experiences.
I'm due august 7th and would never ask to be induced before 39 weeks. But I am 4'10, narrow(ish) hips, and our girl has measured decently big for just about everything so far. We're being sent for a growth scan in 2 weeks to get a better idea of if I can even have her naturally before any decisions are made (Plus, big heads run in my husband's family... especially at birth hahaha)
At my 31 week appointment he asked me if I had questions about delivery and I asked if he had any concerns with my height and going naturally. He said that he didn't have any big concerns but we would have to wait and see how big she is measuring at our ultrasound, which is completely fair.
I have a serious fear (I'm anxiety prone already and always have been) of her shoulder getting stuck or him having to break her clavicle and I am beyond terrified of that happening to my little girl. I would seriously hate myself if that happened. Plus, I know if I went over my due date a lot of doctors wouldn't induce until 42 weeks and I would be so scared of her being too big at that point.
So if it comes down to her looking big, would you opt for an earlier induction or c-section? I would really like to have her naturally, but I just want her here safe without any problems!
I have not talked to him about being induced, and plan to next appointment after we see how big she is so far. And please, I don't need to hear the "baby will come when she is ready" stuff, I am well aware and would not do anything against my doctors wishes. I am just preparing myself for all possibilities!
