What are you packing in your hospital bag?

Hi everyone!! I am trying to pack for the hospital  (not due until August 26 but you never know) and I am struggling. There is list after list online but some just seem crazy, too much stuff!! Like do you really need a bath robe and your own towel/pillow? What are you packing?

I have 2 onezies and 1 pair of pants and a coming home outfit and 1 gown for baby boy and socks and hats and mittens..and for me I have 2 lounge outfits..and a coming home outfit and pair of comfy flip flops and my toiletries include Shampoo and Body wash and A razor and Deodorant and tooth brush and toothpaste and a hair brush and I think that is pretty much it!

I wore my robe (thin cotton robe) almost the whole time over my nursing tops and pj pants. I also found house shoes really helpful. The first shower after delivery is awesome cause you feel pretty gross post delivery so bring all the shower/toiletry stuff. I kept my kiddo in the hospital shirts and hats until we went home (I snagged a few of these for home bc they button and don't go over the babies head) a baby blanket is a good thing to have. A nursing bra and some big ole comfy undies and should be about good.

I LOVE just staying in the hospital gowns.  They are always coming in to check"down there".  And now that I need to have c-sections I can't handle the pressure of pants on my c-section cut very well.  I always bring maternity clothes from when I was 20 weeks pregnant to wear home.

Check to see if your hospital provides diapers. Some do, some don't.

I also just keep the baby in the hospital clothes till home time.  Then I put him in an outfit.

I always bring 
-my phone and charger
-bathrobe 
- teeth stuff, some coverup
- brush- my shampoo and condition
- hair tie
- a pen (trust me as a healthcare worker myself, hospital staff do not want to give you there pens to use)

**i always bring a book and I never ever read it.  Lol I'm always too tired and the tv is way easy when my brain can't think from exhaustion  Lol

I packed a thin robe, nightgown, nursing bra, nipple cream, shampoo/conditioner/bodywash and nursing pads for myself. For baby, I packed 2 outfits, coming home outfit, 2 hats, 2 pairs of socks, bibs, burp cloth, recieving blanket. I've been adding a little every once in a while, but I think I've got the basics covered. My hospital provides pads, diapers, wipes, and formula/bottles (if needed).

-phone/camera/chargers
-several nursing bras and some boob pads

Baby won't need anything and you won't need much :)  if you will have lots of visitors, you can bring some clothes to wear.  I preferred the gowns.

You really just need to pack something for yourself to change in, pjs and comfortable day clothes. Pads. Socks/slippers. If you plan on showering, body wash, shampoo, a towel, hairbrush etc.

If you want to change your baby out of the clothes they provided bring some, maybe 2-4 just in case. Going home clothes for baby.

The hospital should provide diapers (even formula if you don't breastfeed or have trouble feeding).
