Positive show up after sitting?

I took two tests and both were negative but I looked an hour later and both have a faint positive line now. How long can you let a test sit before its ineffective? Can a faint positive show up if a test has been sitting out after use?

That has happened to me last month. I took one and looked 30 mins later and it was there. So I went straight to the store to buy more. Lol. And those popped up within the time frame. Take another test to make sure.

After around 10 minutes, it's not valid. It kind of depends on the manufacturer. Also, I just wanted to add I had my first vvvvvvvvvvvvfl show up past ten minutes, but it did end up being positive. I just couldn't consider it positive at the time. I had to retest.
