I don't regret breaking up with him, because he clearly was not the right person for me, we were just not compatible… But I do regret treating him badly before I actually figured that out. He didn't deserve it and I still feel badly about it. On the positive side though, it really gave me a good lesson in how to treat people, even when they aren't giving you what you need.

I adore my husband and would never ever leave him but I used to wonder what would have happened if a certain ex and I had never broken up. He recently got back in contact with me. His gf left him because he's complacent and doesn't want to ever get married or have kids. He was contacting me because he's miserable and was probably hoping I was too. I'm the opposite of miserable though. It's nice to have that closure. To know without a doubt I ended up with the best guy.

I regret that I ever gave myself to him. That's what started it all. I regret not being a strong enough person to leave when he started emotionally abusing me. Before him I could stand up for myself and then with him i couldn't. I believed everything he said. I regret not being able to leave the first time he pushed me down my parents steps and kept kicking me in the ribs and the stomach or the time he tied me up and raped me for talking to a friend. I wish I didn't deal with that for 5 years and actually believe it was my fault.
