Car seat dilemma

Kenzie
We travel long distances a lot (200-400 miles, a couple of times per month). Our 9 week old cannot stand her car seat-- like cries from beginning to end of the ride. We have reached our limit of dealing with it, and need to find a solution. We have an evenflo embrace car seat (a car seat my mom gave us after we asked for the Chico key fit). I was doing some research last night and found that sometimes the angle of infant seats puts  pressure on their stomachs and causes acid reflux and that convertible car seats can mitigate the issue. We put an insert into her existing seat today and while we didn't do any long drives, she didn't cry as much. The only problem is that with the insert in, it makes the seat snug and won't be a long term solution.  I know the benefits of the infant seat, but I'd like some rea life experience with the convertible seat with a baby this age? I have also thought
Of just buying the Chico I wanted originally but don't know about that either.
