Painting babies nails?

How early do you find it appropriate to paint your baby girls nails? I'm going to just paint her toe nails when I do first paint them, but I wanted advice on when?

I painted my little girls toes with "piggy paint" it's all natural no chemicals. The bottle says "as natural as mud"

I painted her toes when she was like one.... But with her fingers.... Probably not until she could ask

I paint my nieces toes whenever I see her. She is 14 months now but I used to do it when my sister wasnt around to soo how long it would take her to notice. One time it was one of her other kids like 5 hours later. It was hilarious.
