Breastfeeding and not gaining enough weight?

Took my son for a reweight check today and my dr was not satisfied with his weight gain. She does not think he's gaining enough weight. 
When he was born he weighed 8 lbs 9 oz. when we left the hospital he was an even 8 lbs. 18 days later he has only gained 2.5 oz. I have been strictly breastfeeding him and have only supplemented a couple times due to waiting for my milk supply to come in. So after talking with the pediatrician today she came to the conclusion that she thinks he has acid reflux. Not sure how she came to this conclusion since he has only spit up twice his entire life but I am extremely frustrated. She prescribed him Zantac drops. 
Has anyone else experienced this or had issues with their baby gaining weight?

Find a good lactation consultant!! My pedi has one on staff and our breastfeeding issues turned around in less than a day. My girl went from 8.15 when she was born to 8.3 when we left and she stayed that weight for four weeks. Turns out, my supply was inadequate so they recommended me to take a rigorous schedule of fenugreek and blessed thistle along with drinking at least a gallon of water a day along with pumping 4 times per day. It's made a world of difference (even though I still have to supplement some). I'm really surprised your pedi jumped right away to acid reflux. Find someone who will work as long as it takes! My son lost 12% body weight in the first week. I was told he had to supplement with formula, but I refused. I began nursing and pumping what felt like around the clock for a few days. My supply increased over that period and now I breastfeed AND supplement with my breast milk. He is gaining an ounce a day. Don't give up!

I'd try and talk to a lactation consultant. Usually at the babys 2 week appointment they like to see baby back at their birth weight. I was having trouble with my baby and her losing too much weight. I now have to supplement at breast with formula because of pcos I don't produce enough breast milk. And when I started to supplement she gained a pound back within 4 days. But a lactation consultant and help with getting your supply up to get those extra calories to your little one. Good luck hun!
