Steroid injection at 35 week gestation

Hey... my doc has asked me to get these injection(2doses ) at 36+4 weeks ( gestation week 34+1) for baby's lung development ,since these are steroids I'm a bit sceptical and wondering if its really needed at this stage of the week I'm in.. Any suggestions?
