Insurance question?

I just found out I was pregnant on Sunday and my app says I'm 3 weeks and 5 days but my husband just recently switched jobs and I think the insurance from the previous job has stopped and the new one has started yet and I have an appointment for the 16th, will I have to pay out of pocket or what will happen??

I work in the medical field and deal with insurances everyday.  You will be considered self pay or a cash patient. Honestly, if your husband's insurance kicks in on July 1st, I would reschedule your appt. I am also pregnant, and my doctor did not want to see me until I was  8-10 weeks. I also recommened just calling your doctor's office to find out the policies specific to the office. They typically have a flat rate for cash patients depending on the type of visit scheduled. Yes you will have to pay out of pocket for your first visit if you don't have insurance. You can usually set up a payment plan if you can't afford the whole amount.
