Hey all

I had extreme bleeding from 10/2015 until 5/16. I was prescribed Progesterone and Yaz birthcontrol but the bleeding didn't stop it became worse. I had an ultrasound and my ovaries were clear, no signs of cysts or polyps or fibroids. My blood work came back funky. My LH and FSH? (they only verbally said it I never saw the paperwork) were off. The doc said i might have PCOS or at least the horemone imbalance part of it. They prescribed me Zarah birthcontrol and Metformin. I'm 3 weeks in currently.

My metformin dosage has been upped over the three weeks. Started with 500mg for the first week. 1000mg for the second week and now I'm starting 2000mg today. I haven't had many side effects, mild gastrointestinal problems but nothing I've read. I haven't had too much luck with the weight loss, but it's early.

How long did you guys take Metformin? Is this going to be long term? What should I expect now?
