Did I burn my breastmilk?

I had a bag of frozen milk and put it in water on the stove. The pot was much too small and there wasn't enough water so the exposed part of the bag started melting and got stuck to the pot a little. I still was able to pour the milk in a bottle and it was seperated. I shook it and gave it to the baby but he spit it out and started wailing. He did it twice. I tasted it myself and it tasted normal but had a kind of birthday candle-like aftertaste. Also everytime I set it down, it seperates extremely fast. I know separation is normal but usually after it's sat for a little bit. Anyways, is it burnt?
