On demand or schedule ?

Which do you do ? I want to do on demand but I worry about cuz my lo one is 2 weeks and will sleep and go 4-5 hours not eating . I hate waking her up at night to eat .

We are mainly demand feeding now. Until she got back up to birthweight I wouldn't let her go anymore than 3 hours. 
Now I let her go, but if it's getting to 4-5 hours I wait until she stirs a little then gentle wake her. That's mainly to keep up my supply and so I don't get too engorged.

I did a little of both. I let him eat whenever but if he went over 3 hours if wake him up.

On demand. I've done it this way since birth and she is gaining weight as she should be.

I had to wake every 2 hours for a couple days because he was low birth weight and risk for low blood sugar. Now that he's already surpassed his birth weight at a week old I'm feeding by demand.

You don't have to wake them. Babies sense of smell is very strong. They can smell the milk in their sleep. Mine will nurse and take a bottle while still asleep

On demand. Her doctor is always happy with her weight gain so when she started sleeping longer I let her stay asleep.

I felt the same way at first but at DS's two week checkup the pediatrician recommended we let him take the lead and let us know when he wanted to be fed. The doctor also said at that age up to four hours was fine and five is okay on occasion so I would just set an alarm for 4 hours if he didn't wake up. He's 7 weeks now and happy and healthy as ever.
