No period, no positive

Stopped birth control in August 2015, no period until January 2016, miscarriage in March 2016. Still no period since the miscarriage but no positive pregnancy test either. Ovulation test positive May 7th. Any else in the same boat? Obgyn says wait longer but I'm so impatient waiting for one or the other to come!
