Spina bifida.

So recently the high risk doctors at maternal fetal medicine confirmed that my unborn son has myelomeningocele. They told me that we are lucky though because it's so low on his back that it should have less effect on him. Next week I meet with the children's hospital to discuss weather they want to do his first surgery now (before 26 weeks pregnant) or within 24 hours of birth, which will have to be via C-section. My SO has been extremely supportive and keeps kissing my belly telling our son that he is still our perfect boy. However anytime I tell anyone else, like work, they automatically give me a look of extreme shock and fear. They are still supportive but they definitely add more fear to the mix. I was curious if anyone here has a child with or knows someone with this condition? I know it's pretty rare but it would be nice to find someone to talk to and ask questions. Thanks in advance
