Breast feeding problems

I'm going to try to keep this as short as possible. All I've ever wanted to do was breast feed and from the start it's been a challange. He latched on right away when he was born but on the second night nothing was coming out. He cried in the hospital for hours until finally we gave in to giving him a bottle and I was directed to pump. I've seen the lactation consultants many times, they gave me a shield and every once in a while he'd latch but my supply is low and they tested my prolactin levels and said it was below someone who just had a baby but the medication they could give me was reglan and I have a history of depression so I can't take it. Of course I've tried everything, mothers milk around the clock, blessed thistle and fennegreek. I was pumping every 3 hours and only producing about an oz to an oz and a half every pump. This last week I was ready to quit all together I stopped pumping for 2 whole days to the point my milk was almost completely dried up until a few days ago my son started sucking on his hands for the first time so my SO recommended that I see if he'll latch, and sure enough without a shield or anything he did. So now I've slowly been trying to get him to breast feed after he's had the bottle for a little bit. I'm hoping that I can keep trying to maybe increase my supply but I'm wondering if my supply can increase again after it almost drying up? Anything encouraging helps.
