I got an IUD about a month ago, and I just started my first actual period on it. Usually my periods are light-medium, and I just wear a panty liner at night and go through 2 super tampons throughout the rest of the day. This period started with the worst cramps of my life coming in waves. This started yesterday. The bleeding also started yesterday and has been extremely heavy. I wore a regular pad last night (only slept for 6-7 hours) and when I woke up, it was completely soaked. I have been changing my super tampon every 4 hours today, and everytime it is also soaked. When I take out my tampons and use the bathroom, there is more blood in the toilet (the tampon didn't soak it all up while it was in so blood immediately came out in the toilet.) This is all a month after I got my Skyla IUD. Is this normal? I feel like I'm just bleeding so much (I've never been heavy so I don't really know what to expect with a heavy flow and what is considered too much blood) and I had awful cramps where I had to take a Vicodin while at work so I wouldn't have to sit down in the back room until my cramp went away. Anyone have a similar experience with an IUD? HELP 😩
