Do you think if someone is too disabled to work that they are too disabled to take care of a child?

I'm talking more of physical disabilities, kids are hard work. I guess with help it's manageable, I'm just wondering.

I would assume so...if your disability prevents you from doing physical labor, then I'd have to wonder how you're going to play with your child, hug them, feed them, change them, chase after them, etc. I would have to know why someone claims they're too disabled to work but not to be a parent before I could form a concrete opinion.

I think it just depends on the disability honestly. There are mentally disabled people that have kids and care for them fine. Also in cases like someone missing limbs or something. They can take care of children just fine. It might be a little more difficult, but not impossible. But there's other disabilities that can definitely hinder someone from being a good parent. So it just depends really

So just because someone is in a wheelchair or something means they can't be a good parent? I know plenty of disabled parents raising awesome well behaved children

My Brother is disabled... but I wouldn't leave kids with him unattended, he could set the house on fire, lost emotional control etc but he's bipolar and a cocktail of drugs to keep him stable which has caused some noticable neurological damage so it depends on the situation Imo

Possibly. You don't want to have kids and then they just have to do all the work around the house you can't do. But I'm sure there are people with physical disabilities who take great care of their kids as well.

I was disabled when I became a mother . Does not mean I can't be a good mother I'm doing better now..I have 2 ruptured discs in my back.
