Have you kept TTC a secret?

Question

From your family and friends? I have. My reasoning? Because I had a feeling it was going to be tough for us- and it has been. I figure it'll be harder having people ask me about it periodically or all the time.

I was up until recently I didn't tell anyone. We've been ttc almost a year now. We didn't tell anyone for 7 months. Then I told my mom and best friend. We started ttc around the time we got married so now that it's a year later we are getting asked constantly. Sometimes it just comes out now since they don't know how hard I am really trying. Only close family who ask though, I never bring it up myself.

We kept it a secret then I fell in November last and was around 7/8 weeks at Xmas so we told the family and very close friends over Christmas thought it would be a lovely surprise which it was they all cried with joy. Sadly a week after I miscarried... look back and wish we never told them all but the way I look at they would have found out I misscarried if I didn't tell them when we did. Now we have been trying since they mention it from time to time and hard thing is my friend has a hen party the Saturday after I am due on so will know by the hen and if I'm not drinking they will guess... loved the surprise element last time but defo won't have it this time round.. wanted to wait till my scan this time to tell people but with the upcoming events if I fall they are going to work it out . x

I'd been trying for 11 months before I told one of my friends and then at the 1 year mark I told another friend. Both of them aren't judge mental and won't be asking monthly did it happen but I felt the need to tell someone since we're starting the fertility consult process tomorrow. My family and DH's would be too involved if I told them. If it gets to the put where it's more intense I may tell them.
