The troubles of having family heirlooms/traditions

That we HAVE to use because it's been in the family and every child in the family has used it since the beginning of time ☹ it's cute, but shouldn't be forced. I feel the same way about names are passed on.. luckily that's not his family though.

So.. the dresser, crib and glider rocker are all part of my husband's family and even though they're rough looking now that they've been used for the past 100 years, no one is allowed to paint or refinish any of it. Did I mention the crib is literally 70 or 80 years old & has a specially made mattress on it.. from 25 years ago...

Yeah.. not sure how I feel about that..

So I did pick up this really cute bench, painted it and put a cushion and fabric on top 😄 the only piece of furniture that matches the nursery.

Anyone else feel my pain?
