Does This Guy Like Me?

Okay, so there is this guy that goes to my school. &I I have had a huge crush on him since I was a freshman and he was a sophomore. I will be a junior next year and he will be a senior. In my freshman year I always used to find him staring at me in the halls and one time he had a class right before mine and they had to stay after and he was staring at me the whole time! I began to think he was really cute and was happy to find out I had lunch with him! We never talked at all in person that year, but at lunch he would always walk really close to me and look at me and he would always butt up and stand close to me in the lunch line. Then over that summer I added him as a friend in Instagram and he dm'd me saying hey and stuff. Eventually in the conversation I asked him if he had a snapchat and he replied with a "yes" I got nervous and didn't know what to do so we stopped talking. He liked a couple of my pictures for the rest of the summer, but when sophomore year came around we didn't talk in person. All of sophomore year was basically the same as freshman year! He would look at me and get close to me and him and his friends would look at me and one day when I was walking up the stairs him and his friends were behind me and I could hear them saying "just do it, just talk to her!" I don't know who they were talking about but I turned the opposite corner and I heard my crush say "never mind then" and his friends were like "you waited to long!" So I assumed they were talking about me' ! I know this is really long and I'm sorry, but I just want to know if you guys think he is interested or why he does t talk to me in person! I don't want it to be the same this year and I would love to talk to him, but he always seems really nervous and stuff???
