I've done some reading on this because I've wondered about this too. Check "What to expect the first year" or look on Pinterest. Lots of ideas. My girl is 6 1/2 weeks and here's some thing we do:

- play in her baby gym- work on reaching above her head and grabbing the toys

-tummy time- I read you're supposed to do it 2-3 times a day but I usually only remember one maybe 2 sometimes. 😬 she likes to have a mirror under her to look at herself.

-play with rattles- put them in her hand and gently shake them or put the rattle on one side of her head and get her to look that way, then shake on the other side and get her to look the other way- basically getting her to move her head from one side to the other.

-listen to music- I read at 5-6 weeks they start to be able to enjoy music, so we've been listening to lots the last couple weeks- classical, pop, worship, lullabies, etc

- looking at pictures- I have some board books with simple images (the brand is "bright baby" if you look on Amazon, though in sure you have some that will work). I show her the pictures and she takes them all in. I talk to her about what we see in the picture (do you see the kitty? Oh look! A ball!)

-sense of touch- I also read this sense is often overlooked in favor of sight and sound but it's really important- they learn a lot by feeling different textures. So I rub her stuffed bunny in her arms and legs and face, then try a burp cloth, a rattle, etc. and I talk to her about them (isn't that soft? Oh that's bumpy, huh?)

Obviously we don't do all of these every day, just trying to throw out the variety of things we've done.
